Axium Budgeting
Axium Budgeting is every bit as good as it was when it first hit the market.  In fact, with version 2.02, it's been improved to the company of market leaders.  Alas, priase aside, this is also Axium's obituary.  The program is an orphan now, owned by Entertainment Partners, but squirreled away into anonymity.  The latest version would have won four reels - instead it wins the Alas, poor Yorick award for a premature death.  If you can pick up a copy, do.  There's no support, but it's an incredibly good program.

Dragon Naturally Speaking v9
Dragon Naturally Speaking is a step into the future.  You talk; it types.  You bark commands; it does stuff.  Opens programs, runs macros, sends email.  Alas, nothing will bring the hyperdrive online.  But that aside, Dragon is one amazing tool.  If you ever need your hands off the keyboard, this is essential.  It's on my machines and it's in my toolket.  Four reels though it's not quite perfect, just very, very good at what it does. ProductionPro Budget
Another prematurely orphaned budgeting program, and one of the best.  There was no logic in leaving this one behind - even after two years without updates, many of its features still outpace most other budgeting programs.  A bit long in the tooth, PPB is still an amazingly good program and a steal for less than a hundred bucks.  No reels, alas, though it deserves more.  [MORE]

Showbiz Budgeting

Showbiz delivers a chameleon of a budgeting program, handling movies one minute, AICP forms the next. simple still shoots and complex episodics.  All with astonishing ease.  Easily the most original and powerful budgeting program produced.  With the added advange of multiple languages and calculating actual costs, this program is a winner.  Easily a major player among the top tier programs.
